Obituary:  Times Picayune (New Orleans, LA), Tuesday, 25 August 1942:  On Sunday, August 23, 1942, at 4 o'clock p.m., Camile Joseph Pitre, beloved husband of Dorothy B. Romero, father of Calvin and Melven Pitre, son of Camilla Usey and the late Julian Pitre, brother of Albert Pitre, Mrs. J. Foucha, Mrs. B. Maggio; aged 33 years; a native of Louisiana.  Relatives and friends of the family, also employees of the Federal Barge Line, are respectfully invited to attend the funeral, which will take place Tuesday, August 25, 1942, at 2 o'clock p.m., from the funeral home of E.J. Ranson & Sons, Inc., 1024 Elysian Fields avenue.  Religious services at St. Mary of the Angel's church.  Interment in St. Bartholomew cemetery.

Obituary:  States Times Advocate (Baton Rouge, LA)Mrs. Dorothy Betsy Pitre - Died Saturday, Sept. 14, 1975, at 8:45 a.m. at Baton Rouge General Hospital.  She was 62, a native of Franklin, and a resident of 3725 North Foster Drive.  She was a retired clerk for Farm Stores Inc. Body to be at Hollabaugh-Spindle's Wooddale Memorial Chapel, corner of Wooddale and Tom, with visiting from 10 a.m. to 11 p.m. Sunday and after 8 a.m. Monday.  Religious services at St. Joseph's Cathedral at 10:30 a.m. Monday.  Entombment in Resthaven Mausoleum.  Survived by two sons, Melvin A. Pitre Sr., and Calvin J. Pitre, both of Baton Rouge; two sisters, Mrs. Bertha Riley, New Orleans, and Mrs. Lil Clossen, Belle Chasse; one brother, Emile U. Romero, Metairie; two grandsons, David Wayne and Melvin A. Pitre, Jr., both of Baton Rouge; four granddaughters, Misses Sharon Marie, Joan B., Mona, and Kim Marie Pitre, all of Baton Rouge.  She was a member of St. Gerard Catholic Church.

of Baker.  Died 7:30 p.m. Monday, June 1, 1992, at his residence in Baker.  He was 61 and a native of New Orleans.  He was a retired asbestos worker with Local No. 53. and a U.S. Army and U.S. Navy veteran.  Visiting at Charlet Funeral Home, Zachary, 5 to 9 p.m. Wednesday, and 10 a.m. until dismissal at 12:30 p.m. Thursday.  Religious services at St. Isidore Catholic Church, Baker, at 1 p.m. Thursday, conducted by Father Gary Belsome.  Burial in Hillcrest Cemetery, Baker.  Survived by wife, Verna Marie Fontenot Pitre, Baker; three daughters, Sharon Marie Schmidtfranz, Baton Rouge, Joan Desiree Willbanks, Port Vincent, and Mona Lynne Nelson, Denham Springs; a son and daughter-in-law, David W. and Ronda Pitre, Baton Rouge; a brother, Melvin A. Pitre, Denham Springs; and four grandchildren.  Pallbearers will be Tony Willbanks, Ronnie Nelson, Grant Schmidtfranz, Melvin Pitre Jr., Brian Muse and Jamie Fontenot.  He was a member of St. Isidore Catholic Church.  Memorial donations may be made to the Cancer Society of Baton Rouge.

Melvin Anthony Pitre:  The Advocate (Baton Rouge, LA), Friday, 28 September 2018:  Melvin Anthony "Pete" Pitre, Sr., age 80, a resident of Killian, LA., passed away on Saturday, September 22, 2018.  Pete worked as an Asbestos Insulator through the Local 53 in New Orleans, LA.  Pete is survived by his 2 children, Kim Pitre Muse and husband Brian, and Melvin A. Pitre, Jr.; his grandchildren, Joshua Pitre and wife Jessica, Shaun Pitre and wife Celeste, and Austin Muse; and his 2 great-grandchildren, Lane Joanne Pitre and Cooper Pitre.  He is preceded in death by his wife, Jo-Ann Mertz Pitre; his parents, Camille Joseph Pitre and Dorothy Romero Pitre; his granddaughter, Erica Joann Pitre; and his brother, Calvin Joseph Pitre.  Visitation will be held at Resthaven Funeral Home, Baton Rouge, LA, on Sunday, September 30, 2018 from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm.  Visitation will resume on Monday, October 1, 2018 from 10:00 am until a memorial service at 11:00 am.  Burial will follow at Resthaven Gardens of Memory.
