Obituary: The Union Leader (Manchester, NH), Wednesday, 14 August 2002: Stewartstown - Charles Edward Pitre, 84, died Aug. 10, 2002, at Coos County Nursing Home in West Stewartstown. He was born in Berlin on June 30, 1918, the son of Dosithe and Eugenie (Trahan) Pitre. Mr. Pitre worked as an auto mechanic for Glen Motors. From 1967 to his retirement in 1982, he was the auto instructor for Berlin High School. As a teacher he was active in the Plymouth trouble-shooting championship, where his team won several awards, including 10th place at the nationals. He was an avid fisherman, a cabinet maker and a former member of St. Joseph Parish, now Good Shepherd Parish. He was also a member of the teachers association. The family includes a son, Richard Pitre of Kennebunk, Maine; one brother, Alexander Albert Pitre of Canterbury, Conn.; two grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife of 51 years, Madeleine (Perreault) Pitre, in 1995; by a son, Raymond Pitre, in 1950; and by two sisters, Anita Bergeron and Laurette Dandeneau. Calling hours are in Fleury-Patry Funeral Home on Friday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., when a Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at St. Anne Church of Good Shepherd Parish. Burial will be at St. Anne Cemetery. Donations can be made to the Alzheimer's Greater New Hampshire Chapter, Concord.
