Obituary:  The Bangor Daily News (Bangor, ME), Saturday, 4 November 1950:  Woodsman Killed by Log near Moro - Moro, Nov. 3 - A 34-year old Stockholm Woods worker was almost instantly killed here Thursday when he was crushed beneath a heavy log.  County Medical Examiner Bernard H. Gagnon of Houlton, said that William D. Peters was yarding logs with a team of horses when the mishap occurred.  Everard L. Bates of Moro, by whom Peters was employed, discovered the fatally-injured workman.  Gagnon said that the heavy log apparently rolled over on the woodsman, fracturing his skull.  He was born at Campbellton, N.B., son of Joseph and Catherine (Budreau) Peters, coming to the United States in 1918.  He had been a resident of Stockholm for the past 10 years.  Remains are at Morgan's funeral home.  He is survived by his mother, Mrs. Paul St. Peter, his wife, Mrs. Rose (Viel) Peters; three daughters, Joyce, Merlene and Mona; and one son, Thomas, all of Stockholm; two sisters, Mrs. Leo Pelkey of Caribou and Mrs. Evelyn Bishop, of Stockholm; and four brothers, Joseph, of Fort Kent, Edward, of Colby, and Alphonse and Leo of Stockholm.  A high mass of requiem will be celebrated Saturday at 9 a.m. at St. Theresa Catholic church, Stockholm, with the Rev. Gaston Auger, pastor, officiating.  Burial will be in the Catholic cemetery at Stockholm.

Obituary:  Bangor Daily News (Bangor, ME), Monday, 2 March 1992:  Stockholm - Rose A. Johnson, 68, beloved wife of Aras L. 'Al' Johnson, and the late William Avilla Peters, died Feb. 28, 1992, at an Andrews AFB hospital, Camp Springs, Md., after a brief illness.  She was born at Fort Kent Mills, Jan. 19, 1924, the daughter of Isadore and Delina (Theriault) Viel.  She had been a resident of Stockholm for 65 years, where she had resided at her Main Street home.  She attended Stockholm schools and was a devoted lifelong member of St. Theresa's Catholic Parish, Stockholm.  She was a lifetime member of the Stockholm PTA; a member of the American Legion Auxiliary of Perkins-Plourde Post No. 136 of Stockholm; and will be remembered as an avid Bingo player.  She was employed by Anderson's Grocery in Stockholm for 18 years, and worked for several years at Converse Rubber Company in Presque Isle.  She was married to Aras L. 'Al' Johnson on May 10, 1969, and accompanied him on overseas assignments in Libya and Germany.  She had traveled widely in Europe and the United States.  She will be lovingly remembered by her husband of Stockholm; one son, Thomas W. Peters of Presque Isle; three daughters, Mrs. Delmer (Joyce) Levesque of Coventry, R.I., Mrs. Raymond (Marleen) Perron of Fairbanks, Alaska, and Mrs. John (Mona) Theriault of Caribou; two brothers, Edmond Viel of Topsham and Milton Viel of Van Buren; five sisters, Edwina Peters of Presque Isle, Alphina Erickson of Caribou, Doris Karcher of Oakville, Conn., Mrs. Claude (Bella) Michaud and Pearl Rowland, both of Van Buren; 12 grandchildren, Staff Sgt. Mark Levesque of Chicksands, England, Kim King and Dennis Levesque of West Warwick, R.I., Jennifer Peters of Portsmouth, R.I., William 'Billy' Perron of Fairbanks, Alaska, Lisa Currie, Carman Peters and Thomas Peters, all of Presque Isle, Heather Perron of Bangor, Ricky Theriault, Scott Theriault and Kristi Theriault, all of Caribou; three great-grandchildren, Alexander King, Bobby Levesque and Danielle Levesque.  She was predeceased by her first husband in November of 1950; two sons, James Peters and Michael Peters; a brother, Gilman Viel; a sister, Helena Raymond; and a grandson, Scott Perron.  Friends may call 3-5 and 7-9 p.m. Monday at Lancaster-Morgan Funeral Home, Caribou.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11 a.m. Tuesday at St. Theresa's Catholic Church, Stockholm, with Father Bernard Nicknair, pastor, officiating.  Spring interment will be in St. Theresa's Catholic Cemetery, Stockholm.  In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to the Stockholm Historical Society.
