Obituary:  Tampa Bay Times (St. Petersburg, FL), Sunday, 9 July 1978:  Peters, Bert, 76, of 426 92nd Ave. N, died Saturday (July 8, 1978).  Born in Canada, he came here 18 years ago from Andover, Mass. and was a retired salesman for trailer parks and mobile homes.  He was a member of Epiphany of Our Lord Catholic Church.  Survivors include his wife Ann; a son William, Amherst, Mass.; two daughters, Barbara Legros, Andover, Mass., and Shirley Peters; a brother Joseph, Londonderry, N.H.; two sisters, Irene Christy, Rochester, N.Y., and Rose Perry, Andover, and 11 grandchildren.  Suncoast Funeral Chapel.

Obituary:  Springfield Union (MA), Saturday, 19 January 1974:  Mrs. Peters was former House Mother: Amherst - Mrs. Rose A. (Wakefield) Peters, 71, of 10 Chestnut Court, who retired in 1969 as house mother of Alpha Sigma Phi at University of Massachusetts, died Friday in Cooley Dickinson Hospital, Northampton.  A native of Lowell, she was a house mother at Lowell General Hospital School of Nursing until she moved here in 1962.  She leaves a son, William R., of Amherst; a daughter, Mrs. Barbara Legros of Andover; 11 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.  The funeral will be Monday morning at Douglass funeral home and in St. Brigid's Church with burial Tuesday in Spring Grove Cemetery, Andover.

William Russell Peters:  St. Petersburg Times (FL), Tuesday, 23 December 2003:  Peters, William R., 79, of Clearwater, died Friday (Dec. 19, 2003) at Morton Plant Hospital, Clearwater.  He was born in Lawrence, Mass., and came here in 1979 from Amherst, Mass.  He worked as a mental health consultant for a nursing education business and was a Navy veteran of World War II.  He was a member and eucharistic minister of St. John's Episcopal Church, Clearwater, a volunteer at hospitals and nursing homes, active in the clown ministry and a bereavement counselor for his church and for Bayview Gardens Retirement Village, Clearwater.  Survivors include his wife of 52 years, Patricia "Pat"; four daughters, Muffin Peters, Clearwater, Deb Jacque, Amherst, Brenda Daniell, Kindsland, Ga., and Pam Doyle, Worthington, Mass.; a son, Bob, Amherst; a sister, Barbara Legros, Atkinson, N.H.; six grandchildren; and a great-grandson.  National Cremation Society, Largo.

 

Barbara Ann Peters:  The Eagle Tribune (Lawrence, MA), 11 February 2019:  Mrs. Barbara Ann (Peters) Legros  September 04, 1928 - February 08, 2019 - Atkinson, NH, formerly of Andover - Barbara Ann (Peters) Legros, a resident of Atkinson, New Hampshire, formerly of Andover and beloved wife of the late Joseph A. Legros, passed away at the Holy Family Hospital in Methuen, surrounded by her loving family, on Friday evening, February 8, 2019.  She was 90 years old.  Born in Lawrence, Massachusetts, on September 4, 1928, she was the beloved daughter of the late Bert and Rosalie (Wakefield) Peters.  Mrs. Legros was a graduate of Punchard High School and had been employed as a Technician for Compugraphic in Wilmington for more than 20 years.  In her spare time, Barbara enjoyed knitting and crocheting.  She also loved to travel and was an avid reader.  Above all, she was a very devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.  She will be dearly missed.  She is survived by her loving children; Gail M. Campiola of Zebulon, North Carolina, Peter M. Legros of Atkinson, New Hampshire, Susan M. and her husband James D. Marnie of Windham, New Hampshire, John J. and his wife Karen S.Legros of San Antonio, Texas, Michael and his wife Caroline Legros of Methuen and James S. and his wife Julie Legros of Center Ossipee, New Hampshire, sixteen grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren and 13 great-great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.  She was also the mother of the late Scott Legros, mother-in-law of the late JoAnne Legros and grandmother of the late Melissa Libby and James Legros.  Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated in St. Augustine Church, 43 Essex Street, Andover on Thursday, February 14, 2019, at 10:30 AM.  Relatives and friends are most welcome to attend.  Calling hours will be held in the Burke-Magliozzi Funeral Home, 390 North Main Street, Andover on Wednesday, February 13, 2019, from 4 to 8 PM.  Interment will be held in the Spring Grove Cemetery in Andover.  Donations in Barbara's memory may be made to the American Cancer Society.
