Obituary: The Times Transcript (Moncton, NB), Thursday, 17 July 1969: Bathurst - The death of Mrs. Helene Pitre, widow of Ben Pitre occurred on Wednesday afternoon at the home of her son, John Pitre, 579 Hinton Court, Bathurst at the age of 89. A daughter of the late William Chamberlain and his wife, the former Helene Lavigne of Robertville, Gloucester Count. She is survived by one son, John of Bathurst, two daughters, Mrs. Clement (Adele) Guitard of Green Point, and Mrs. Danville (Helene) Elquire of Coblyn, Ontario; one sister, Mrs. Joseph Guitard of Belledune; 10 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren. The body is resting at the Elhattan funeral home with funeral to be held from the Sacred Heart Cathedral on Friday afternoon at 4 o'clock. Interment will be in the South Bathurst cemetery.

Mary Adele Pitre: The Times Transcript (Moncton, NB), Tuesday, 26 August 1969: Bathurst - The death of Mrs. Clement Guitard of Green Point occurred Saturday night at Chaleur General Hospital (Hotel Dieu) at the age of 65. She was the former Adele Pitre of Belledune, a daughter of the late Ben and Helene (Chamberlain) Pitre. Her fisrt husband Michael Savoie died and her mother's death occurred in July. She was formerly a resident of Belledune. Surviving besides her husband are three children by her first marriage, Mrs. Henry Hachey (Agatha), Hamilton, Ont., Patrick, Brantford, Ont. and Gerald of Hamilton; a sister, Mrs. Daniel Alquire (Helene) of Cobden, Ont. and a brother, John of Bathurst. The body is resting at Verret's Funeral Home, Nigadoo. Funeral will be held at St. Vincent de Paul Roman Catholic Church, Green Point today at 3 p.m. Interment will be in the parish cemetery.

Born in Bathurst, Mr. Pitre was the son of the late Ben Pitre and Helen Pitre. He had resided here until 15 years ago when he moved with his family to Hamilton. He was a carpenter by trade. Surviving are his wife, the former Margaret Pitre, also of Bathurst; three sons, Leo, Brantford, Ont., Edward and Anthony, Hamilton; three daughters, Mrs. Donald Jackson (Leona), Jeannette and Monique; and 10 grandchildren, all of Hamilton; his mother, Mrs. Helen Pitre, Green Point; one brother, John B. Pitre, Bathurst; three sisters, Mrs. Clement Guitard (Adele), Green Point; Mrs. Danzle Alquire (Helen), Cobden, Ont.; and Miss Frances Pitre, Somerville, Mass.; also a number of nephews and nieces. John Lazare Pitre: The Times Transcript (Moncton, NB), Friday, 16 March 1979: Bathurst - The death of John L. Pitre, 291 Douglas Ave., occurred Thursday at the Georges Dumont Hospital, Moncton after a lengthy illness. He was 70. Born in Robertville, he was a son of the late Ben and Helen (Chamberlain) Pitre. He was the last surviving member of his immediate family. He lived in Bathurst for most of his life and for almost 25 years was an employee of Consolidated-Bathurst Ltd. He was a millwright. He took early retirement in 1957 due to illness. He was a member of the Golden Age Club for senior citizens. He is survived by his wife, the former Lydia Noel; one daughter, Mrs. Augustin Hachey (Mary Ursula), Beresford and three grandchildren, Marie Cecile, Marie Denise and Jean Marc Hachey, all of Beresford. The body is resting at Elhattan's Funeral Home. Funeral mass will be celebrated Saturday at 2 p.m. from Sacred Heart Cathedral to be followed by entombment pending spring burial in the parish cemetery.
Frances Irene Pitre: The Times Transcript (Moncton, NB), Tuesday, 31 January 1967: Bathurst - Funeral service for Miss Frances Pitre of Boston, Mass., was held at Sacred Heart Cathedral, Bathurst, when requiem high mass was celebrated by Rev. J. A. Arseneau, parish priest. Assisting were Rev. Lionel Comeau as deacon and Rev. Richard Kenny as sub-deacon. Pallbearers were Patrick Kenny and Augustin Hachey of Bathurst, Edward Hachey and Gerard Savoie, Hamilton, Ont., Arthur Pitre, Robertville and Clement Guitard, Green Point. The body was placed in the South Bathurst vault for interment in the adjoining cemetery in the spring. Attending the funeral from a distance were Mrs. Henry Hachey, Mr. and Mrs. Gerard Savoie, Mr. and Mrs. Edward Hachey, all of Hamilton, Ont., and Mrs. Danzle Alquire, Cobden, Ont. Miss Pitre died in Boston at the age of 52 after a long illness. Born in Bathurst, she was a daughter of Mrs. Helen Pitre of Green Point and the late Ben Pitre. She resided in Boston for the past 19 years and was a regular summer visitor in this area. Besides her mother, she is survived by a brother, John B. Pitre, Bathurst, two sisters, Mrs. Clement Guitard (Adele) Green Point, and Mrs. Danzle Alquire (Helen), Cobden, Ontario, and a number of nephews and nieces.
