Obituary: Courier Freeman, Potsdam, Thursday, 20 June 1968: Winthrop-Funeral services for Bert A. LaShomb, 87 of Brasher Falls, were held last Tuesday at St. Patrick's Church. The Rt. Rev. John M. Waterhouse, pastor, officiated. Burial was in St. Patrick's Cemetery. Mr. LaShomb died June 16 in the Potsdam hospital where he had been a patient since June 4. He had been in poor health for several months. Survivors include one son, LeRoy LaShomb, Brasher Falls; five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Born Jan. 31, 1881 in Brasher, he was a son of Mr. and Mrs. Peter LaShomb. He attended Maple Ridge school. March 6, 1905 he and Jennie L. Hollahan of Brasher were married in Hogansburg. She died Dec. 11, 1952. For many years he farmed at Maple Ridge and was employed by Alcoa in Massena. He is a member of St. Patrick's Church.

Obituary: Massena Observer, Monday, 15 September 1952: Winthrop — Mrs. Jennie Lodena Lashomb, 74, a gold star mother and a resident of Brasher Falls, died Thursday, Sept. 11, 1952, at 6:30 p.m. at her home. She was born Oct. 27, 1887 in Bombay, a daughter of John and Agnes Dishaw Hallahan. She had been ill for some time. Surviving are her husband, Bert Lashomb, of Brasher Falls and three sons, Lyle and Ray Lashomb of Massena and Leroy Lashomb of Brasher Falls. A son, Floyd Lashomb was killed in service in 1944. Also surviving is one sister, Mrs. Edward Robedeau of Helena; four grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. She was a member of the Sacred Heart League. Funeral services were conducted at 10 o'clock, Saturday morning in St. Patrick's Church, Brasher Falls. Burial was in the parish cemetery.

Francis Floyd Lashomb: Massena Observer, Monday, 24 October 1949: Winthrop — Mr. and Mrs. Bert LaShomb of Brasher Falls have received a telegram telling them that the body of their son, T/Sgt. Francis F. Lashomb, 38, killed during the Battle of the Bulge on Dec. 21, 1944, is on the way to the United States from Belguim. Sgt. Lashomb was born in Brasher Falls Mar. 5, 1906 and attended schools there. Before entering service Feb. 12, 1942 he was employed by Alcoa. He served at Fort Niagara, Camp Polk, La., California and Fort Benning, Ga., before going Overseas in May 1944. Sgt. Lashomb served in England and was then sent to France, Holland, Germany and into Belgium where he was killed during the fighting at the Bulge. He had never married. Mr. and Mrs. Bert Lashomb and sons; Mr. and Mrs. Leroy Lashomb, Brasher Falls; Mr. and Mrs. Lisle Lashomb and Mr. and Mrs. Ray Lashomb, Massena, will go to New York to attend the burial in Long Island, National Military Cemetery,

LaShomb, 71, of Brasher Falls, will be Wednesday (Jan. 13, 1982) at 10 a.m. at St. Patrick's Church in Brasher Falls, with the Rev. Robert 0. Lamitie officiating. Spring burial will be in St. Patrick's Cemetery of Brasher Falls. Calling hours will be today (Tuesday) from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Hammill Funeral Home in Winthrop. Mr. LaShomb was pronounced dead on arrival Sunday evening (Jan. 10, 1982) at the Massena Memorial Hospital. Surviving are two sons, Keith A. of Brasher Falls and Vernon O. of Baldwinsville; two daughters, Mrs. Gloria Jenne and Miss Marilyn LaShomb, both of Syracuse; eight grandchildren; and one great-grandchild; and several nieces and nephews. Mr. LaShomb was born Nov. 7, 1910 in the town of Brasher, son of Burt and Jennie L. (Hallahan) LaShomb. He attended local schools. He married Marjorie Otis on July 12, 1933. She died Sept. 1970. He was a communicant of St. Patrick's Church in Brasher falls. Contributions may be made in his memory to the Tri-Town Rescue Squad.

Ray A. Lashomb: Massena Observer, Tuesday, 19 June 1962: Winthrop — Ray A. LaShomb, 48, Center St., Massena, died at the VanDyne Hospital, Syracuse, at 12 o'clock, Sunday, June 17, 1962, where he had been a patient for two months. His condition had been critical since undergoing surgery at the Syracuse Memorial Hospital in November. Friends may call at the Hammill Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, June 20, at 10 a.m. in St. Patrick's Church, Brasher Falls, with the Rev. Herbert Hannan, pastor, officiating. Interment will be in St. Patrick's Cemetery, Brasher Falls. Mr. LaShomb was born in Brasher, Nov. 22, 1913, son of Burt and Jennie Lodema Hallahan LaShomb. He attended schools in Brasher and married Bernice Ryan of Massena in St. Mary's Church, Massena, in 1947. She died in April, 1957. Surviving are, his father, Burt LaShomb, B r a s h er Falls; two brothers, Leroy, Brasher Falls, and Lyle, Massena. There are several nieces and nephews. Mr. LaShomb had been employed by Alcoa and later by the village of Massena. He was a communicant of St. Mary's Church, Massena.

Lyle F. Lashomb: Massena Observer, 25 January
1968: Lyle F. LaShomb, 47, of 45 Spruce St., died Tuesday morning,
Jan. 23, 1968, at 10:20 o'clock in Massena Memorial Hospital. He had been
a patient at the hospital one week but had been in failing health some time.
He had been hospitalized on previous occasions. The body was at the
Donaldson Funeral Home. Funeral services were held at 10 o'clock this
morning in St. Mary's Church and the body was placed in the vault in Calvary
Cemetery. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Barbara Despaw Lashomb; two
daughters, Linda 11 and Bonnie 7; one son, Michael 10; one
brother, LeRoy LaShomb, Brasher Falls. He was born in Brasher Falls
Jan. 14, 1921, a son of Bert and Lodena Hallahan LaShomb. He
attended Brasher schools, and served in World War 2. Before he became ill,
he was a truck driver for Matty’s Fuel Oil Service. He was a communicant
of St. Mary’s Church.
