Obituary:  The Daily Advertiser (Lafayette, LA), Thursday, 11 January 2018:  Anthony "Chin" Pitt (photo): Scott - Funeral services will be held at 10:00AM on Saturday, January 13, 2018 in Delhomme Funeral Home of Scott for Mr. Anthony "Chin" Pitt, 95, who passed away on January 9, 2018 at 11:30pm at St. Martin Hospital.  Father Mark Derise, Pastor of Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church will conduct the funeral services.  Burial will take place in Sts. Peter and Paul Cemetery.  Mr. Anthony, a resident of Scott, was the son of the late Ulinor Pitt and the former Louisianaise Domingue.  Mr. Anthony was a graduate of Scott High School and was attending S.L.I., now U.L.L. until he was drafted and proudly serviced his country as a member of the United States Army during World War II.  He was wounded in combat near the Rhine River and received the Purple Heart; while in a hospital in Paris he replied in French to his Doctor and was reassigned as a French interpreter in Court in Paris.  He was also very proud to have traveled through Belgium during combat completely on foot.  He was honorably discharged in 1946 at Camp Shelby in Jackson, MS.  Upon discharge he immediately took a taxi home to Scott, LA to see his mother.  Mr. Anthony had many careers throughout his life including working for the Sheriff's Department, appliance salesman at Marine Electric, driver for People Haulers, and owned Pitts Burger on Johnston St.  In his spare time he raised hogs, registered Charolais Cattle, and registered Nubian Goats.  He loved going eat out with his children and listening to the radio.  He was a devout Catholic and a lifetime parishioner of Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Scott.  Mr. Anthony was also a lifetime member of the Disabled American Veterans, Lafayette Chapter of the Military Order of Purple Heart, and V.F.W. Post 9822.  He is survived by his three daughters, Sheila Domingue and husband Jerry, Patsy Chaisson and husband Tim, Karen Harson; six grandchildren, Joey Chaisson, Amy Copeland, Casey Domingue, Lindsay Sonnier, Toby Domingue, and Kodi Nepveux; and 12 great-grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by his wife, Verna Baudoin Pitt; parents; infant son, Ricky Phillip Pitt; great-granddaughter, Alie Domingue; and 5 brothers.  The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Delhomme Funeral Home of Scott on Friday, January 12, 2018 from 2:00PM to 9:00PM.  A Rosary will be recited at 7:00pm on Friday evening in the funeral home.  Visiting hours will continue Saturday from 8:00AM until the time of service.  Pallbearers will be Joey Chaisson, Casey and Tobey Domingue, Bryan Copeland, Buford Sonnier Jr., and Christopher "Bubba" Nepveux.  Honorary Pallbearers will be members of VFW Post 9822.  The family would like to thank Dr. Ernest Kinchen, Dr. John Bernard, Dr. Gary Guidry, Dr. Rick Leoni, Dr. Chad Heinen, and the St. Martin Hospital staff and LGMC staff for all of their care and compassion.  Our sincerest gratitude to Kodi and Bubba Nopveux and their three children, Anthony, Laila, and Audrey for the countless years of care, compassion and memories.  In lieu of flowers donations in Mr. Pitt's honor can be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.

Obituary:  Advocate (Baton Rouge, LA), Tuesday, 25 November 2003:  Scott - Services for Verna Baudoin Pitt, 72, will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery under direction Martin & Castille Funeral Home.  Visitation will be at the funeral home from 12 noon until 9 p.m. today and from 8 a.m. Wednesday until the services.  She died Monday at her residence.  Before her retirement she was employed as a licensed practical nurse at Our Lady of Lourdes Regional Medical Center intensive care unit and worked for Dr. Laris Hebert in Scott.  She was also the director of central supply at Our Lady of Lourdes Regional Hospital.

Sheila Ann Pitt:  Sheila Domingue, December 1, 1951 - March 9, 2020:  A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 2:00 pm on Thursday, March 12, 2020, in Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church for Sheila Domingue, 68, who passed away on March 9, 2020.  Father Vincent will be Celebrant of the Mass.  Burial will take place in Sts. Peter and Paul Cemetery.  Sheila retired from USL after 31 years of service.  She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother who took special pride in spoiling her grandchildren.  She was a friend to many and always willing to give a helping hand.  She enjoyed spending time at the ballpark with her children and grandchildren and cooking more than enough for anyone who might drop by because her door was always open.  She loved to travel with her husband and saw most of the USA.  Sheila, a lifelong resident of Scott, was the daughter of the late Anthony Pitt and the former Verna Baudoin.  She is survived by her husband of 40 years, Jerry P. Domingue; three children, Casey (Kelli) Domingue, Toby (Jamie) Domingue, and Kodi (Bubba) Nepveux; eight grandchildren, Cullen and Bella Domingue, Cameron, Rylie and Austin Domingue, Anthony, Laila and Audrey Nepveux; two sisters, Patsy Chaisson and Karen Harson.  She was preceded in death by her parents; granddaughter, Alie Domingue, and one infant brother, Ricky Pitt.  The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Delhomme Funeral Home of Scott on Wednesday, March 11, 2020 from 2:00 pm to 9:00 pm.  A Rosary will be recited at 7:00 pm on Wednesday evening in the funeral home.  Visiting hours will continue on Thursday from 10:00 am until the time of service.  Pallbearers will be Casey Domingue, Toby Domingue, Bubba Nepveux, Cullen Domingue, Cameron Domingue and Joey Chaisson.  Honorary Pallbearers will be Austin Domingue and Anthony Nepveux.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.  The family would like to thank the staffs of St. Joseph's Hospice, Lafayette General Medical Center and Ochsner Medical Center for their care and compassion.  Delhomme Funeral Home, Scott, LA is in charge of funeral arrangements.

 

Rickey Joseph Pitt:  The Daily Advertiser (Lafayette, LA), Tuesday, 1 September 1953:  Funeral services were held at St. Peter and Paul Church in Scott at 5 p.m. yesterday for Rickey Joseph Pitt, infant son of Mr. and Mrs. Anthony Pitt, of Lafayette, who died in a local hospital at 1:15 p.m. yesterday.  Interment was in Scott Cemetery.  Services were conducted by the Rev. Mathieu.  Survivors in addition to his parents, include two sisters, Patsy Lou and Sheila Pitt, both of Lafayette, his paternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Ulinor Pitt of Scott; maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Ulysse Baudoin of Scott, and paternal great-grandmother, Mrs. John Pitt, of Lafayette.  Martin and Castille Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
