Joseph Clarence Pitre:  Maison Funeraire Racicot (Caraquet, NB):  Clarence Pitre, 1935-2022, Caraquet – At Villa Beausejour in Caraquet, on Thursday, January 20, 2022, at the age of 86, Mr. Clarence Pitre, husband of Marguerite Brideau, residing in Caraquet, passed away peacefully.  He was the son of the late Andre Pitre and the late Julie Lebourque of Atholville.  In addition to his wife, he leaves to mourn his son, Jacques and his partner Roseline Cormier; two granddaughters: Marielle and Janelle whom he loved so much; a brother-in-law, Valmond Brideau (Fernande) of Caraquet; several nephews and nieces; a nephew whom he considered a brother, Roger Pitre (Rina) of Edmundston, as well as several friends.  Besides his parents, he was predeceased by three brothers and two sisters: Paul, Leo (late Angeline) all of Atholville, and Anita (Ernest Chiasson) and Marie-Anne (late Aime Phillips) all of Dalhousie; and most recently in December 2021, Lionel from Ottawa.  It was at the age of 17 that he enlisted in the Canadian Armed Forces in the 22nd Regiment for a 23-year career in the forces.  Based in Valcartier Qc, he crossed the ocean for a stay in Germany.  Upon his return to Valcartier, he was transferred to the Saint-Jean d'Iberville Qc base where he was an instructor sergeant for National Survival and subsequently transferred back to Valcartier to then finish his military career at the Citadel of Quebec.  When he retired from the army, he came to plant his roots in Caraquet, the birthplace of his wife Marguerite.  He will hold various jobs before taking his real retirement as he liked to say!  He was also co-owner with his son Jacques of the fur tannery located in Ste-Anne du Bocage.  The family would like to thank all the employees of Villa Beausejour de Caraquet for their good care and services, especially during these difficult times of the pandemic.  Under the current pandemic circumstances, there will be no visitation at the funeral home or funeral service.  A private ceremony will take place at the cemetery at a later date.  Relatives and friends will be notified in due time.  Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Maison Funeraire Racicot in Caraquet.
