Obituary:  Houma Courier (LA), 29 February 2000:  Inez Thibodaux Pitre, 97, a native of Terrebonne Parish and resident of Houma, died at 2:17 p.m. Monday, Feb. 28, 2000.  Visitation will be from 5 to 10 p.m. today at Chauvin Funeral Home and from 9:15 a.m. to funeral time Wednesday at St. Bernadette Catholic Church.  Mass will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the church, with interment in St. Francis de Sales Cemetery No. 2.  She is survived by one son, Herbert P. Pitre of Houma; two daughters, Dolive P. Bergeron and Barbara P. Bonvillain, both of Houma; eight grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and 11 great-great-grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Ashful P. Pitre; her parents, Arthur and Alice Babin Thibodaux; and one brother, Cleveland Thibodaux.  She was a homemaker and a parishioner of St. Bernadette Catholic Church.

Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. today and from 8 a.m. to funeral time Thursday at Chauvin Funeral Home.  Mass will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home, with burial in Terrebonne Memorial Park.  She is survived by two daughters, Betty Jane Bergeron and Melanie Pierce and husband, Terry; six grandchildren, Monique Orgeron and husband, Craig, Sonny Hebert and wife, Shawna, Jessie Pierce III, Chelsea Pierce, Bryce Pierce and Hunter Pierce; and eight great-grandchildren, Parrish Hebert, Bria Orgeron, Morgan Orgeron, Caden Pierce, Cullen Pierce, Gavin Hebert, Gabrielle Hebert and Madison Pierce.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Wilson J. Bergeron; her parents, Ashful Pitre and Inez Thibodaux Pitre; one brother, Herbert Pitre; and one sister, Barbara Pitre Bonvillain.  She was a parishioner of Maria Immacolata Catholic Church and a homemaker.  Her greatest love was family and she will be missed by all who knew her.  She truly enjoyed Mardi Gras, dancing and crocheting.  Chauvin Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Herbert Paul Pitre:  Houma Courier (LA), Thursday, 11 September 2008:  Herbert "Pete" Paul Pitre, 80, a native and resident of Houma, died at 11:48 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 9, 2008.  Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to funeral time Friday at St. Bernadette Catholic Church.  Mass will be at 11 a.m. Friday at the church, with burial in St. Francis de Sales Cemetery No. 2.  He is survived by two sons, Herbert Paul Pitre and wife, Laura, of Houma, and David John Pitre and wife, Penny, of Houma; one daughter, Laura Pitre Crossland and husband, Ken, of Houma; one sister, Dolive Bergeron of Houma; seven grandchildren, Jason Paul Pitre, Samantha Pitre, Jason Champagne, Katie Champagne, Mathew Champagne, Whitney Crossland and Amy Brown; and three great-grandchildren, Ariel, L.J. and Rylee Ann Pitre.  He was preceded in death by his wife, Virgie Lee Fournier Pitre; his parents, Ashful Pitre and Inez Thibodeaux Pitre; and one sister, Barbara Bonvillain.  He was a retired rig supervisor with Houtech and a U.S. Navy World War II veteran.  He was a member of the Elks Lodge, Marine Corps League and Woodmen of the World.  He was a parishioner of St. Bernadette Catholic Church.  Chauvin Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

 

Barbara Ann Pitre:  Houma Courier (LA), 28 January 2001:  Barbara Ann Pitre Bonvillain, 63, a native and resident of Houma, died at 12:21 p.m. Friday, Jan. 26, 2001.  Visitation will be from 6 to 10 p.m. today and from 8 a.m. until funeral time Monday at Chauvin Funeral Home.  Mass will be at 11:30 a.m. Monday at St. Bernadette Catholic Church, with burial in St. Francis de Sales Cemetery II.  She is survived by two sons, Dan Michael Bonvillain and Derrell John Bonvillain of Houma; one daughter, Darlene B. Dufrene of Houma; one brother, Herbert P. Pitre of Houma; one sister, Dolive P. Bergeron of Houma; nine grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Morris Joseph Bonvillain; and her parents, Ashful and Inez Thibodaux Pitre.  She was a retired nurse for Nursing Care Inc. and a parishioner of St. Bernadette Catholic Church.
