Contribution from great-granddaughter Laurie Grant:

- According to a relative, the family was very secretive about their past and that Alexander came from a large family.  Alexander went to New Hampshire with his brother Frank, met, and married Julia Guymond.  They moved to Dunseith and then Bottineau.  Alex took his family to Ponteix, Saskatchewan.  At one point, after Marie’s birth, Alexander and four other men looked at farming in Saskatoon, then went back to Dunseith and then the following year went back to Canada.  He knew a Lucien Lasante in Ponteix who had also been in Dunseith.  He worked for a Mr. Kervich for 3 years and then had his family join him.  In the late 1920’s Alexander bought a farm which he lost during the drought of the early 1930’s.  He then moved to town and lived at the house and farm of a Mr. BoutiereJulia died of cancer in September 1937 and is in the Ponteix cemetery.  Alexander then married the widow, Mrs. Coulombe.  He suffered a stroke in 1949, leaving him fairly well handicapped, then spending the remainder of his life hospitalized.  He died in 1953 and is in the Ponteix cemetery.  His daughter Marie and her husband Emery share a common headstone in the Foothills Cemetery.
