Obituary:  Times Picayune (New Orleans, LA), Tuesday, 22 July 1997:  (photo)  Aswell Pitre, founder and owner of Southeastern Motor Freight Inc., died Saturday at his home.  He was 85.  Mr. Pitre was born in Houma and lived in New Orleans for the past 52 years.  He was a member of the Louisiana Motor Transport Association.  Survivors include his wife, Pearl Guillot Pitre; a son, Ronald Pitre; a daughter, Charlene Guillot; five grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.  A funeral will be held today at noon at Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home,  Visitation will begin at 10 a.m.  Burial will be in Lake Lawn Park Cemetery.

Obituary:  Houma Courier (LA), Monday, 19 November 2007:  Pearl Guillot Pitre, 94, a native of Plattenville and resident of New Orleans, died Friday, Nov. 16, 2007.  Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to funeral time Tuesday at Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home.  Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home, with interment in Lake Lawn Park Mausoleum.  She is survived by one daughter, Charlene Pitre Guillot and husband, Elmo; one son, Ronald Pitre and wife, Beverly; one sister, Una Helen Guillot; nine grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Aswell Peter Pitre; her parents, Michel Guillot and Angele Landry Guillot; three siblings, Twilla Blanchard, Landry Guillot and Claude Guillot; and one grandchild, Tod Pitre.  Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
