Misc.:  Winnipeg Free Press, 8 January 1949:  Two Carmen employed in the Canadian National railway car shops with service totaling nearly 60 years retired Dec. 31.  Phillip Pitre of 407 Melrose avenue East Transcona, was born in St. Alexis, Que., in 1883 and spent most of his youth in New Brunswick.  He joined the Canadian National railways in 1920 and completed his service with them as a coach carpenter.  C. Whittington presented Mr. Pitre with a cheque from the Goodwill association, and as a personal gift from his fellow workers he received a purse, presented by S.T.F. Webster.  Mr. Pitre was a member of Lodge No. 550, Brotherhood of Railway Carmen of America......

Joseph Philips 'Claude' PitreWinnipeg Free Press (MAN), 18 April 1984:  On April 17, 1984 at the Health Sciences Centre, Claude Pitre, of Ste. 9-92 Balmoral St., Winnipeg, passed away at the age of 66 years.  Funeral service will be conducted by the Rev. Mr. Paul Martin on Thursday, April 19 at 10:00 a.m. at the Transcona Funeral Chapel.  Service to terminate at the chapel.  Cremation and interment at a later date.  Predeceased by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Phillip Pitre, he is survived by a brother Ben of Transcona and three sisters, Lucy Beaulieu of Nelson, B.C., Violet Beaulieu of Yimar, B.C., Madeline Smallwood of Rutland, B.C.  Transcona Funeral Chapel in care of arrangements.

Benjamin Joseph Pitre:  Winnipeg Free Press (Manitoba), 19 November 2007:  Benjamin Joseph Pitre -  Peacefully, on November 16, 2007 at the Concordia Hospital, our beloved husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, Benjamin Pitre, passed away at age 81 years.  As per his wishes, no public service will be held.  Transcona Funeral Chapel in care of arrangements.
