Obituary:  Massena Observer (NY), Thursday, 28 April 1977:  Albert J. LaShomb, 77, of 21 Spruce St., was pronounced dead upon arrival at noon Tuesday, Apr. 26, 1977, at Massena Memorial Hospital where he was taken by the Massena Rescue Squad.  He had been failing for ten years.  Calling hours are 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m., Thursday at the Donaldson Funeral Home.  Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m., Friday at St. Mary's Catholic Church with burial in Calvary Cemetery.  He was born Sept. 26, 1899 in Brasher Falls, the son of Henry and Mary Cotter LaShomb, attended Brasher Falls schools and came to Massena in 1932.  He retired in 1965 from Alcoa, Massena Operations in the electrical Dept.  He married Bernadette Mere May 21, 1926 in St. Mary's Church in Massena.  She passed away Dec. 14, 1973.  Mr. LaShomb was a life member of Knight of Columbus 1141 and Alcoa 25 Year Service Club.  He was a communicant of St. Mary's Catholic Church.  Surviving are three sons, Wayne E. LaShomb, Cooper St., Bernard A. LaShomb, 5 Northview; Marc T. LaShomb, Malone; nine grandchildren.

Obituary:  Massena Observer (NY), Tuesday, 18 December 1973:  Funeral services for Mrs. Bernadette C. Mere Lashomb, 65, wife of Albert Lashomb 21 Spruce St., were held Monday morning at 10 o'clock in St. Mary's Church with burial in Calvary Cemetery.  The body was at the Donaldson Funeral Home.  Mrs. Lashomb died in Massena Memorial Hospital at 9:24 o'clock Friday night, Dec. 14, 1973.  She suffered severe lacerations of the skull, multiple fractures to the pelvis and internal hemorrhage, when struck by a car as she crossed the street in front of her home at 6:15 o'clock Friday night.  She was enroute to a neighbor's home.  The car was driven by Hugh A. Dubray, 35, of 3 Spruce St., who was travelling east and skidded 75 feet off the icy pavement.  She was taken to the hospital by the Massena Rescue Squad.  Det. Sgt. Emmett Green and Patrolman Joseph Greco are investigating for the Police Department.  David E. Donaldson, Massena, a St. Lawrence County coroner, ordered an autopsy.  Surviving are the husband; three sons, Wayne E. and Bernard A. Lashomb, both of Massena, and Marc Anthony Lashomb, Malone: eight grandchildren; two sisters Mrs. Anna Coronas, Syracuse, and Mrs. Samuel (Margaret) Lucia, Bradenton, Fla.; one brother, Lawrence Mere, St. Clair, Mich.  Mrs. Lashomb was born in Altona, Feb. 19, 1908, a daughter of Alexander and Agnes Burl Mere.  She moved to Massena with her family when seven years old and attended Massena schools.  She and Albert Lashomb, a native of Brasher, were married in St. Mary's Church May 28, 1928.  The Rev. John M. Bellamy, pastor, officiated.  Mrs. Lashomb was a communicant of St. Mary's Church, a member of the League of the Sacred Heart, K.C. Auxiliary, Women's Republican Club.  For some years she sold tickets at the Rialto Theater.  She also worked at the J.C. Penney Store in Massena for many years.

Wayne E. Lashomb:  Daily Courier-Observer (Massena, NY), Friday, 10 November 2023:  Wayne E. Lashomb  September 13, 1930 - October 24, 2023:  Wayne E. Lashomb 93, a longtime Cooper Street resident, passed away October 24, 2023 at Treasure Coast Hospice in Stuart, Florida.  Wayne was born on September 13, 1930 in Massena, the son of the late Albert J. and Bernadette (Mere) Lashomb.  He attended Massena schools graduating high school in 1949 and later took a few semesters at Clarkson College.  Wayne proudly served his country in the US Army from 1951 to 1953.  On July 15, 1951, he married Shirley Leroux at St. Mary's Catholic Church with Rev. John Wyzykowski, officiating.  Wayne worked at General Motors, retiring in 1987 as a supervisor.  Following his retirement, he remained active with the GM Retirees Club.  He was a lifelong communicant of St. Mary's Catholic Church and a life member of various community organizations including the St. Lawrence Council Knights of Columbus #1141, where he served as a Grand Knight for two terms.  He was also a member of the St. Lawrence Assembly #710 4th Degree Knights of Columbus and was the Northern Conference Chairman.  His life memberships also include the Elks Lodge, VFW, American Legion, and Amvets.  He and his wife enjoyed their camp on Lake Ozonia, where he was the president of the Camp Association, as well as past secretary and director of the Stony Brook Hunting Club.  He and his wife also enjoyed 6 months a year at their home in Jensen Beach, Florida, where Wayne was also the past president of the Lake Manor Properties, Inc.  Wayne also served his community as trustee for the Village of Massena for 12 years.  He enjoyed hunting at their camp in the Adirondacks and will fondly be remembered for his meticulous care of his Cooper Street lawn.  Wayne is survived by his loving wife of 72 years, Shirley; his children, Vicky and Henry Morrissette of Cornwall, Ontario, Kristy Adams of Watertown, and Jeffrey Lashomb of Massena; his son-in-law, Doug White of Redwood; his grandchildren, Kimberly Morrisette, Laurie Ann Morrisette, Lindsey (Jeremy) Briggs, Tyler Mayer (Steve Gillis), and Devin Carlin; his great-grandsons, Owen, Max, and Bennett Briggs; his brothers, Bernard and Iris Lashomb of Louisville and Marc Timothy Lashomb (Carol Perry) of Malone; a sister-in-law, Carol Ann Lashomb of Malone; and nieces and nephews.  Arrangements are under the care and guidance of the Donaldson Funeral Home, Massena, however there will be no services at this time.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be held in the spring/summer of 2024 with burial in Calvary Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, those wishing may consider memorial contributions to be made in his memory to Treasure Coast Hospice or Hospice of St. Lawrence Valley.
