Obituary:  The Standard Freeholder (Cornwall, ONT), Wednesday, 13 September 1939:  Anastase Pitre, who came to Cornwall from Embrun three years ago and had been in failing health for a year, died at Hotel Dieu Hospital at 3:40 o'clock this morning.  Mr. Pitre was taken to hospital Thursday morning and underwent an operation Saturday morning.  The operation was successful and he seemed in good condition until Tuesday afternoon, when a change for the worse set in and he gradually grew weaker until early this morning, when he died.  He was fortified by the last rites of the Roman Catholic Church.  Mr. Pitre was born in Embrun 54 years ago, a son of Peter Pitre.  Besides his wife, he leaves two sons, and three daughters, all at home, 713 Montreal Road - Jeannette, Eva, Marcel, Jean-Paul and Danise Pitre.  He also leaves two brothers and three sisters - Ovide Pitre, Embrun; Peter Pitre, Montreal, Mrs. Eugene Clement, Mrs. Osias Roi and Mrs. Basile Mache, all in Embrun, Ont.  Funeral arrangements have not been completed.

Obituary:  Standard Freeholder (Cornwall, ONT), Tuesday, 27 May 1980:  Pitre, Mrs. Blanche (Bourdeau), at her daughter's residence, 506 Belmont Street, on Monday, May 26, 1980, aged 88 years.  Formerly of 300 Guy Street.  Beloved wife of the late Anastase Pitre.  Dear mother of Jacques (Hamilton), Jean Paul, Mrs. Jeannette Plamondon, Mrs. Eva Fortin, Mrs. Roger Carriere (Denise), all of Cornwall.  Also survived by 26 grandchildren and 29 great-grandchildren.  Predeceased by one son Marcel, six brothers and three sisters.  Resting at Boulerice Funeral Home.  Funeral mass on Thursday, May 29, 1980 in St. Felix de Valois Church at 9:30 a.m.  Interment Embrun, Ontario.  Family in attendance Tuesday from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. and Wednesday from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. and 7 p.m. to 10 p.m.  The F.F.C.F. are requested to meet at the funeral home this evening Tuesday, May 27th, at 7:30 p.m. from prayers, and the Laicat Franciscain at 8 p.m.

Joseph Eugene Lucian Marcelle Pitre:  Marcel Pitre.  Funeral service for Marcel Pitre,54, formerly of 346 Prince Arthur St., was held Sept. 13 from Boulerice Funeral Home to Nativity Church with Rev. Luc Bouchard officiating.  Mr. Pitre, predeceased by his father Anastase and survived by his mother Blanche and his wife, the former Gertrude Tessier, died Sept. 10 (1978) at Cornwall General Hospital.  He leaves a son and four daughters, Robert, Mrs. Louise Mayer, Mrs. Pierre Martin (Pierrette), Mrs. Jean-Gilles Marion (Diane) of Cornwall, Mrs. Brian Latimer (Monique) of Brockville; and seven grandchildren.  Mr. Pitre also leaves two brothers and three sisters, Jacques of Hamilton, Jean-Paul, Mrs. Vincent Plamondon (Jeannette), Mrs. Eva Fortin, Mrs. Roger Carriere (Denise) of Cornwall.  Pallbearers were Roger Plamondon, Claude Plamondon, Donald Plamondon, Michel Pitre, Jean Carriere and Pierre Carriere.  Burial at Nativity cemetery.

Joseph Jean Paul Lucien Pitre:  Pitre, Jean-Paul - At his residence on Thursday, November 28, 1996.  Jean-Paul Pitre of 34-A Baldwin Avenue; age 67 years.  Beloved husband of Carmen Duplantie.  Dear father of Michel Pitre of Cornwall.  Loving grandfather of Sacha.  Dear son of the late Anastase Pitre and the late Marie Blanche Bourdeau.  Dear brother of Jacques Pitre (Jeannette) of Hamilton.  Predeceased by one brother, Marcel Pitre and by three sisters, Mrs. Jeannette Plamondon, Mrs. Eva Fortin and Mrs. Denise Carriere.  Rested privately at the Lahaie and Sullivan Funeral Homes, Cornwall.  Funeral was held on Saturday, November 30, 1996 for Service in the Memorial Chapel of the Funeral Home at 2 p.m. followed by cremation.  As expressions of sympathy, Memorial Donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Ontario would be appreciated by the family.
