Obituary: Anastase Pitre, who came to Cornwall from Embrun three years ago and had been in failing health for a year, died at Hotel Dieu Hospital at 3:40 o'clock this morning. Mr. Pitre was taken to hospital Thursday morning and underwent an operation Saturday morning. The operation was successful and he seemed in good condition until Tuesday afternoon, when a change for the worse set in and he gradually grew weaker until early this morning, when he died. He was fortified by the last rites of the Roman Catholic Church. Mr. Pitre was born in Embrun 54 years ago, a son of Peter Pitre. Besides his wife, he leaves two sons, and three daughters, all at home, 713 Montreal Road - Jeannette, Eva, Marcel, Jean-Paul and Danise Pitre. He also leaves two brothers and three sisters - Ovide Pitre, Embrun; Peter Pitre, Montreal, Mrs. Eugene Clement, Mrs. Osias Roi and Mrs. Basile Mache, all in Embrun, Ont. Funeral arrangements have not been completed.

Joseph Eugene Lucian Marcelle Pitre: Marcel Pitre. Funeral service for Marcel Pitre,54, formerly of 346 Prince Arthur St., was held Sept. 13 from Boulerice Funeral Home to Nativity Church with Rev. Luc Bouchard officiating. Mr. Pitre, predeceased by his father Anastase and survived by his mother Blanche and his wife, the former Gertrude Tessier, died Sept. 10 (1978) at Cornwall General Hospital. He leaves a son and four daughters, Robert, Mrs. Louise Mayer, Mrs. Pierre Martin (Pierrette), Mrs. Jean-Gilles Marion (Diane) of Cornwall, Mrs. Brian Latimer (Monique) of Brockville; and seven grandchildren.
