50th Wedding Anniversary:  Sunday Bulletin (Norwich, CT), Sunday, 17 February 1991:  50th - Albert A. and Armelde Z. Pitre of 175 Depot Road, Canterbury, celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary Dec. 30, 1990.  They were married Dec. 30, 1940, in Berlin, N.H., by Father Melanson.  Best man was Arthur Dandeneau.  Maid of honor was Lorette Dandeneau.  Mr. and Mrs. Pitre have eight children, Lorraine Staples of Willimantic; Pauline Sampoli of West Plains, Mo.; Estelle Campbell of Tabb, Va.; Albert Pitre of Hebron; Larry Pitre of San Gabriel, Calif.; Armelde Womble of Lisbon; Gisele Buehler of Voluntown; and the late Irene Morin.  They have 22 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.  Mr. and Mrs. Pitre celebrated their anniversary with family and friends from Maine, New Hampshire, Virginia and Connecticut at a reception Aug. 18 at Mashamoquet park in Pomfret.  A Mass was held Dec. 30, 1990, at St. Joseph Church, Norwich, followed by a dinner gathering for family and friends.  The anniversary Mass was celebrated by their nephew, Richard Pitre, S.J.  A string quartet provided music.

Obituary:  Norwich Bulletin (CT), 28 December 2010 :  Armelde Z. Pitre July 12, 1922 - December 25, 2010; Canterbury - Armelde Z. Pitre, 88, passed away on Saturday after a lengthy illness.  She was born in Quebec Canada on July 12, 1922.  After completing school she married Alexander A. Pitre who survives her.  She worked at various jobs throughout her life but loved being a homemaker and caring for her family the most.  Besides her husband, she is survived by siblings, her children and numerous grandchildren.  A Funeral Mass will be held at a later date.  Burial is private at the convenience of the family.  Church & Allen Funeral Service is assisting the family.

Pitre:  Rivereast News Bulletin (CT), Friday, 17 September 2021:  Albert Pitre, "Joe," 74, of Hebron, died Wednesday, Sept. 1.  Born Sept. 13, 1946, he was predeceased by his parents, Alexander Pitre and Armelde (nee Duclos) Pitre, and a sister, Irene Morin.  He is survived by his siblings, Lorraine Staples, Pauline Sampoli, Estelle Campbell, Larry Pitre, Armelde Pitre, Gisele Buehler; a son, John Atkins; two grandchildren; and many nephews and nieces.  He had a career as a mechanic and inspector at Pratt & Whitney Aircraft.  He was also a Vietnam veteran in the U.S. Navy.  A funeral Mass will be held at St. Mary Church in Willimantic Tuesday, Sept. 28, at 11 a.m.
